Happy 2020 everyone!
Instead of the New Year’s Eve “Ball drop” I decided to post a photo I took a couple of months ago while traveling south on Interstate 5, near Redding, Calif. of an eye-catching geodesic sphere. Having built and lived in a (Cathedralite 39′ diameter) geodesic dome home in the late 1970s, I tend to notice geodesic domes (partial spheres), but it’s less common to see larger full spheres such as this one. Here’s an article about the sphere’s construction, and another after the sphere was completed. Here’s a link to my friend Asha’s geodesic company – Pacific Domes – in Ashland, Oregon.
